5 Reasons to Visit Noosa

5 Reasons to Visit Noosa
by

Bordered by pristine beaches and lush tropical rain forest, Noosa is one of the finest resort towns in Australia.  When you arrive in Noosa many people experience the same feeling, this is paradise! In recent years Noosa has become a more popular destination on the east coast of Australia and having family that live at Noosa, gives me a reason to be a frequent visitor.

You may ask “what makes Noosa so unique?”  It just has something for everyone.  Whether it’s the Noosa River, swimming beaches, Surf Beaches, Noosa National Park, designer boutiques and fine dining, it’s all there to enjoy.  There is no doubt, Noosa comes packaged for everyone.

I’d like to share my 5 Reasons to Visit Noosa.  So if you’re making plans to a take break soon, Noosa Heads definitely deserves a spot on your list.

1. Beaches

Noosa wouldn’t be Noosa without the gorgeous Main Beach.  It is one of the most popular beaches in Queensland.  Main Beach is north-facing and protected from wind, with gentle waves and pleasant temperatures.  It has sand that is clean and soft and the water is a gorgeous aqua color.  The beach is patrolled so it’s safe for families.  It also has clean, moderate waves, which makes it great for beginner surfers, boogie boarders or stand up paddle boarders.

Other beaches in the area are Sunshine Beach, Alexandria Bay, Tea Tree Bay, and Little Cove.  All definitely worth a visit while in the area.

2 National Park

Noosa National Park would be one of my favorite places and one of the most visited national parks in Australia.  Even if this was the only reason for visiting Noosa, it would be worth it.  The 4,000 hectares of the park is filled with all sorts of interesting sights.  Whether it is koalas, brush turkeys, swamp orchids, dolphins, or just the pristine coastline, there is something for everyone.  There are 5 different tracks in the park to suit different levels of fitness.  You can choose to walk the coastal path or hike through the bush.

Whenever I walk the Noosa National Park, I always have my camera as there are so many photo opportunities.

3 Noosa River

If you’d like a break from beaches, head over to Noosa River.  There is an idyllic park that stretches along the river, ideal for a picnic or family get together.  The path along the river makes a great walking or cycling track.  Along the river there are plenty of places to hire boats, jet skis, paddle boards for recreation.  You could also enjoy a river cruise along the Noosa River.  Then if you’re feeling peckish you’re presented with a vast array of cafes and restaurants to meeting your culinary needs.  One of my favorite places is Red Emperor, where you can purchase great fish and chips, or if fish isn’t on the menu, they make great deep fried eggplant.

4 Food

When we’re away on holidays, food is always a top priority.  Noosa definitely is a great place to dine.  Whether you’re looking for casual cafes, fine dining, kids-free restaurants, or ice-creameries, you can find all you desire at Noosa.  Hastings Street is definitely a must visit when dining at Noosa.

5 Photography

The photographic opportunities are limited only by your imagination!  From beaches to national parks and anything in between, Noosa is a photographers haven.  Whether it’s aerial, long-exposure, landscape, or any other type of photography, Noosa ticks my box big time.  I particularly love walking along Noosa Main Beach early in the morning to catch the beautiful morning light.  Sunsets present a variety of opportunities around the Noosa area for catching the perfect shot.

After many memorable trips to Noosa, visiting family, fun, food, relaxation, beaches, walks and photography, I have to admit, I love Noosa! It really is an amazing destination for a holiday or a weekend break.
